Research and experience has proven that reading is the key to a child's academic future and at the heart of all formal education. This data led educators Jacqueline James and Joshua Dickerson to establish Jacqueline and Joshua's Reading Place - a non-profit organization created to instill the love of reading and lifelong learning in young children.
Jacqueline and Joshua's Reading Place identifies and partners with schools whose academic and achievement scores do not meet the prescribed criteria. Believing that reading and learning should begin as early as possible, our goal is to target Kindergarten students. We read to Kindergarteners and then provide each with a book, made easier with the support from corporate sponsor, Scholastic Books. Many of these children have never owned a book before. Your support and involvement can help to change that!
